Beyond textbooks and classrooms, co-curricular activities are the perfect complement to a well-rounded education. Through sports, culture, and other activities, our students develop social skills, boost their self-esteem, and discover new talents. At our school, we believe in a comprehensive education that extends beyond academics!
This is how some of our students enjoy Panamericano beyond the classrooms.
Music is an excellent tool for developing skills such as concentration, discipline, motor skills, memory, learning new languages, and strengthening the soft skills that are fundamental to our educational model.
Band and music activities are offered in all sections of the school under the guidance of teachers specialized in the instruments and groups of the program, allowing students to enjoy the world of music by singing, playing wind instruments, strings, keyboards, and percussion, which represent a great support and emphasis on our vision of achieving dreams with passion.
Academic processes lead to the development of knowledge and character, physical activity magnifies these processes to a great extent and provides holistic well-being that helps in knowledge retention and the improvement of physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
Sports activities offer this space to improve these aspects and grow socially responsible. We are responsible for transferring the discipline of the sports session to many social environments where coaches reinforce respect, empathy, teamwork, and collaboration. Also, through movement, we seek a better quality of life and physical routines that will be maintained for the rest of their lives.
The Panamericano School’s Art Education Area is oriented towards the development of creativity and sensitivity in comprehensive education.
Within this context, there is a tendency to awaken, guide, and channel concerns and skills, as well as to form aesthetic values referred to, appreciation and taste for beauty, enrichment and conservation of our cultural and artistic legacy in the field of Colombian, Latin American and world art.
Different themes are developed that will be guided according to the student’s age and their psychomotor development, respecting their creative process and their freedom of expression; managing to stimulate affection and originality through the use, manipulation and spontaneous knowledge of different materials.
Classroom Without Walls is a program that gives our students the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom. Offering experiential learning opportunities where they can put into practice everything they learn in the school, but applied in real-world contexts. During their experiences, they visit various places that represent significant learning depending on the project they are working on. These outings are always supervised and accompanied by teachers and under all safety regulations.
The National Honor Society (NHS) stands as one of the most esteemed and widely acknowledged student organizations in American high schools, boasting around 1.4 million members.
NHS aims to inspire a passion for academic excellence, celebrate exceptional students, encourage community service, foster leadership skills, and cultivate strong character among secondary school students.
The Model United Nations (MUN) program at Colegio Panamericano, like many others around the globe, allows students to engage in a simulation of the United Nations. Participants take on the role of representatives for various countries, organizations, or individuals, working collaboratively to address global issues.
This initiative fosters respectful discussions, encourages critical thinking, and enhances problem-solving skills, all while tackling real challenges faced by the international community.
Senior Project is a program designed to offer final-year students an opportunity to develop both a research and practical process that helps them make informed decisions about their career path. This is achieved through exposure to real-life situations within a specific field of action.
Students conduct research that is reflected in theoretical foundations, and then, for two weeks, they participate in a business internship and work on a practical project under the direct supervision of a professional in their chosen field. The project concludes with a visual presentation of their learning, which is evaluated by a panel of experts. The goal is for students to demonstrate not only their quality but also the opportunities offered by Colegio Panamericano, ensuring that our students have one of the lowest university dropout rates due to career choice.
